My Day

Wow, Where do I begin?  Oh! at the beginning, of coarse!  So today was unlike any day we have had in along time, and somehow I feel rejuvenated!

 

I didn't think rejuvenation would be the outcome when I woke up this morning at 4:30 to a screaming baby, with some kind of extremely nasty cough.  I grudgingly got out of bed and hurried to the rescue. Luckily, (or unluckily) this isn't the first time she has had this nasty cough, so I quickly got her on the breathing machine and drugged her up with Tylenol.  I wish I knew if it was allergies, or if she really is this sick all the time?  She seems to always be sick.  Wheezy and coughing...oh it is just a mess.

 

Anyway, for those of you who know me well, you know I never have been a morning person...however I have to admit that when it happens...I LOVE IT!  I was semi tempted to just let her play on the floor while I climbed back into bed and snuggled next to my Honey, but I didn't!  Instead I sat and played with her for a bit! I LOVED it!  She was all smiles with that toothless grin and those chubby cheeks which push her eyes closed when she smiles...I call her squints...sounds and looks a bit too familiar...;)

Last night Martin and I were discussing "love languages" he is border line with three!  Yikes, anyway He does like a clean house.  And with three little ones following me or not following me all day, the house tends to get a bit messy...so I decided to start in our closet! I cleaned it, put all the clothes away, started laundry, cleaned the bathroom, cleaned the shower, scrubbed the tub, mirrors and sinks...all before the sun came up!  Then Carlee and I headed downstairs and cleaned the kitchen.  She just sat and jabbered to me the entire time! So fun.

Finally around 7:30 Andrue wakes up and is one giant ball of energy!  He must have slept well and was ready to be awake, cause usually he hates waking up! But he ran into the kitchen screaming with a big ol smile on his face, ran right over to me and gave me a giant hug!

At 7:45 Martin finally graces us with his presence (I say this only because his alarm clock had been going off since 5). I make breakfast.  Eggs, bacon and cantaloupe.  While the boys were puttering, taking out the trash and what not.  I went and played with Carlee some more.  I feel like I never get enough time with all of them!

She had found a black string, like off a shirt or something (guess my next chore should have been to vacuum huh?)  she just sat and studied that thing, trying with all her might to figure it out!  Audrie use to do that.

Speaking of which,she finally decided to join us around 8:30...she wasn't as happy as the rest of the kids...we will leave it at that.

We then headed back upstairs and continued to do one of the four batches of laundry that was to be done today.   Finally at 9:00 Carlee started to get a bit sleepy, we did the meds again and laid her down to sleep.

Audrie has been galloping around the house lately holding her hands really awkwardly in front of her making her look so uncoordinated!  It makes me laugh every time!  Finally I said "Audrie, what are you doing?" she responded, "I am riding my horse!"  I had to smile cause this horse comes with us everywhere! She even ties it up to the car when we go into the store.  I never even thought to make that connection.  She said he is green.

Around 10-11 the kids played in the yard, washing their bikes and playing in the water, while I kinda puttered, organized the pantry, washed more dishes, put them away...you know...the usual.  Then I went out and laid in the hammock for a quick little power nap.  It was NICE. 

11:00 came and we had visitors!   The neighbors are so much fun, Audrie's little best friend EB and her bro. JB came over to visit.  Their mom and dad had to head to the doc.  Baby number three is on her way!  There has been some complications so they would be gone for a while.  Anyway,no big deal cause we love them!  They played for a bit, then decided to watch Matilda which I took as another opportunity to sneak in a power nap while Carlee was still sleeping. 

For lunch the girls wanted cupcakes.  When I told Audrie that she had to eat something healthy first she told me, "Mom, I am afraid that I can just have a cupcake".  She had more than that.

Needless to say our house today was full of FUN! The kids all played so well together JB is almost 18 months, Andrue is almost 2, so it could have turned out to be interesting, but they all played SO well together!  They camped in the front room.  We made a tent, had pillows and a blanket, they even packed their bags.  They played, baby, musician on a stage, they made "chocolate cake" with dirt outside, they played in the water, we ate dinner..oh what didn't we do today?  Oh, leave the property...but that is just fine with me.  EB and JB left around 5:30. We finished our dinner, took a bath, brushed our teeth, and had all three sleeping before 7.  Andrue fell asleep on my lap during our first book and Audrie only came out of her room once to get a drink of water.  It was 7:10 and I didn't know what to do with myself.  I love it when they play themselves to sleep!  Just what kids need. 

So that was my day.  I am now waiting to feel a bit tired so I can watch a movie or something...Man, I don't want to know how I would feel if I was a coffee drinker or something...WiReD!
